The implant itself is a titanium post. This post is carefully implanted into your jaw where it becomes integrated into the jaw, functioning like a tooth root. The placement of the implant will vary, based upon how many teeth need to be restored. For a single implant (one missing tooth), the implant is placed where the natural root once existed.
Once it has been fully integrated into the jaw structure, a custom tooth replacement is place atop the implant. For full arch replacements, the implants are placed at the back of the jaw so that a full set of replacement teeth can be anchored to the implants.
